Straight answer

How long does a hair transplant take?

A single FUE session typically runs most of a working day, and larger cases are often staged rather than crammed into one sitting.

The day breaks into stages: consultation and hairline marking, local anaesthetic, extraction of the follicular units, creation of the recipient sites, and placement. Breaks are built in — you are awake throughout and there is no reason to rush the parts that determine the result.

Larger graft counts take proportionally longer, and there is a practical ceiling. Commonly cited single-session limits sit around 3,500 to 4,500 grafts for FUE. Beyond that, staging protects both graft survival and the donor zone.

The procedure is the short part. The result is assessed over twelve to eighteen months, which is the timeframe that actually matters when you are choosing where to have it done.
