Will a hair transplant look natural?
Modern FUE can be genuinely undetectable — but whether it is comes down to design rather than technique.
The old plug look came from large multi-hair grafts placed in regular rows. That is not how the procedure is done now: individual follicular units are placed one at a time, which makes a natural result possible.
Possible is not automatic. Four things decide it — an irregular rather than ruler-straight leading edge, single-hair units only at the very front, hair placed at the correct shallow angle and direction, and a hairline height appropriate to the face and to future loss.
All four are design decisions made before any graft is placed. Design is a physician’s judgement call rather than a template, which is why how much examination went into it is the question worth asking.
